Description kazi 2016-06-25 13:05:19 UTC
Description of problem:
First, some background: I have to admit am not sure if Wayland is the problem. I am using Wayland because Classic Gnome is runs too slow.
Wayland is perfect for me except for the issue. Due to unknown reasons, it either: (a) logs off, or (2) logs off and goes to suspend mode.
I suspected it was a power management issue and turned off all the auto-suspend features. The problem persisted.
I have attached the result of `uname' and `lspci' in the additional information section.
My apologies if this is not the correct forum to post the bug report. Kindly advise me if I should report to a different forum.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
  Wayland, Gnome 3.20.2

How reproducible:
The logoffs are random. It has happened when:
(i) I am compiling ffmpeg on the console and then switching to Firefox for further instructions.
(ii) scrolling through firefox pages using middle button of mouse
(iii) clicking between different windows on the desktop
(iv) uninstalling texlive package using console
(v) installing texlive package using console

Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

Actual results:

Comment 1 kazi 2016-06-26 11:33:57 UTC
The computer logged off randomly again. When I logged on, it went to sleep. Twice:
(1) I was checking the repolist using dnf on a console. I opened firefox and suddenly it logged off.
(2) The console was there (I forgot what I was doing, maybe dnf). I was searching some images of fish fins on the firefox browser. It happened again.

Comment 2 kazi 2016-07-01 14:18:32 UTC
The computer logged off by itself again. The last line of `dmesg' shows a segmentation fault. I am not sure if it is related, but the message is as follows:
----
abrt-applet[3454]: segfault at 0 ip (null) sp bf931cbc error 4 in abrt-applet[80062000+7000]
----

Comment 3 Christian Stadelmann 2016-07-21 15:58:07 UTC
You should see crashes reported by gnome-abrt or abrt-cli in gnome-shell or x server after this happened. If yes, please report these crashes using abrt-cli or gnome-abrt. Then please close this bug.

Comment 4 kazi 2016-07-22 16:41:09 UTC
Thanks for the tip Christian. I have reported through the gnome-abrt client. I shall now close this bug report.
