This needs to be documented for the the Disk image upload, see https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1343077. A new option is available when running engine-setup: Configure Image I/O Proxy on this host? (Yes, No) [Yes]: And perhaps include a note somewhere in the disk upload instructions.
After some discussion with Byron, we've determined that this option in engine-setup is tied to the new 'Upload' functionality for disk images in the Administration Portal. I'm updating this bug so that it covers the documentation of using the 'Upload' button as well as the 'Configure Image I/O Proxy' option.
If you need any help from our side (Dev), please let us know!
Hi Amit, I'm having some issues testing this. Looks like it's the same issue mentioned here: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1348993 When I try and upload an image I'll get the message "paused by system". My system details are: - Red Hat Virtualization Manager Version: 4.0.3-0.1.el7ev - ovirt-imageio-proxy-0.3.0-0.el7ev.noarch - ovirt-imageio-daemon-0.3.0-0.el7ev.noarch I've imported the certificate mentioned in the bug, "https://<engine_address>/ovirt-engine/services/pki-resource?resource=ca-certificate&format=X509-PEM-CA" I've also set "Configure Image I/O Proxy on this host?" to Yes during engine-setup. Is there some step that I'm missing? Also, has the ability to upload from a URL been implemented yet? I cannot seem to find this in the Webadmin. Regards,

Hi Amit, I've managed to get this to work with Chrome and Firefox. Not sure what changed because I retried an upload in Firefox immediately after one failed, and it worked the 2nd time. So I've managed to successfully upload a QCOWS2 image. Has the ability to upload from a URI or URL been implemented yet? Reading through: http://www.ovirt.org/develop/release-management/features/storage/image-upload/ And: https://polarion.engineering.redhat.com/polarion/#/project/RHEVM3/wiki/Storage_3_6/4_0_Storage_Disk_image_uploader_in_the_GUI It's not clear to me what's been implemented. Regards,
