Can Dell provide a patch that applies to Mitaka for this change? It's tied in with other Newton changes and is not a very straightforward backport for something that I can't test directly.

Tom Swanson(irc: swanson) is working on it. Will update the bug when he pushes the cherry pick

Hi Rajni,

Could we ask for the customer case on this to assess scope?

Thanks,
Elise

Comment 4 Rajini Karthik 2016-11-02 20:14:14 UTC
Not sure what the customer case is. This is dell-redhat customer

Comment 5 Rajini Karthik 2016-11-03 18:14:36 UTC
We realized it was not an improvement, and could actually slow some things down. Nova (via os-brick) will log in to each path we give it, search for the device, and if it does not see it log back out. So returning additional paths just causes unnecessary work during that process and does not improve anything.
The review is also abandoned due to this https://review.openstack.org/#/c/365129/

This BZ can be resolved/closed for now
