OpenStack Networking (neutron) on Red Hat OpenStack Platform 8 is now certified as an external network provider. The 'Read Only' option and the support conditions must be documented. From PM: "We do not support deployment which is manual or via Packstack. We only support read-only importing networks and attaching them. Hook needs to be installed by the admin in the deployment step. We only support native OVS ML2 driver." Assignee must confirm whether adding OpenStack Networking in other versions of RHOSP is still provided as a Technology Preview, as in previous versions.
Assigning to Tahlia for review.
The 'Read-Only' option is already covered in https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en/red-hat-virtualization/4.0/single/administration-guide/#Adding_an_OpenStack_Network_Service_Neutron_for_Network_Provisioning I've added an Important box that says "Red Hat Virtualization supports Red Hat OpenStack Platform 8 as an external network provider." Dan, is adding OpenStack Networking with older versions of RHOSP still provided as a Technology Preview, and if so, is it worth mentioning (or better to just direct people to RHOSP 8)?
I cannot find the Important box on the above link. We have not tested earlier versions recently, so we do not want to support it; I don't mind keeping it in TP mode, though. Similarly, I am afraid that steps 9 to 15 should be dropped and replaced with a note: RHV supports consuming preconfigured Neutron hosts. Agent configuration is still on Tech Preview.
Thanks. The text seems good. We are in the process of certifying RHOSP9. Brace yourself to adding it the important box if QA passes all right.
Thanks Dan. I'll keep an eye out for that.
