+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #1259434 +++ Description of problem: Google Mail was configured through gnome online accounts. evolution can't connect to google mail, but online accounts show that all fine. It will show "Scanning folders in IMAP server imap.gmail.com" at the bottom, then eventually timeout and show: Failed to open folder Failed to authenticate: timeout evolution-3.12.11-22.el7.x86_64 gnome-online-accounts-3.14.5-5.el7.x86_64 The workaround mentioned in the Fedora bug has worked for me thus far: /usr/libexec/goa-daemon --replace &
This has been addressed by the gnome-online-accounts rebase to 3.22.x. See bug 1386953

Evolution seems to work with GMail configured through GOA just fine.
