Description of problem:
When I save a file to the desktop the icon does not appear until I
update the folder while viewing the folder with nautilus. 
This is when saving with a "save-as" dialog. Dragging from a window to
the desktop doesn't have the problem.

Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.save any file to the desktop using a "save-as" dialog--gedit for example
2.No icon
3.Open desktop in nautilus. Refresh.
4. Icon now present on desktop
    

Actual Results:  No icon on desktop until refresh

Expected Results:  icon should appear without any further action
