RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description Joerg K 2017-02-14 10:27:34 UTC
Description of problem:
I have found a typo in the german translation of the yum group 'Development tools'. There is an 'r' missing.

The german version is: 'Entwicklungswekzeuge'
It should be: 'Entwicklungswerkzeuge'

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
VERSION="7.3 (Maipo)"
yum version: 3.4.3-150.el7

How reproducible:
Install a system with German language support and run `yum grouplist`.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set LANG="de_DE.UTF-8" and LC_MESSAGES="de_DE.UTF-8"
2. Run `yum grouplist`

Actual results:
Group name 'Entwicklungswekzeuge'

Expected results:
Group name 'Entwicklerwerkzeuge'

Additional info:
none

Comment 2 Joerg K 2018-03-31 13:08:45 UTC
Hi there,

Currently I'm testing RHEL 7.5 BETA. The wrong translation of the group name is included in this version, too.

I know it is not an important feature. But I would like to know if there is any chance this could be fixed before the 7.5 GA release.

Kind regards,
Joerg K.

Comment 4 Lutz Willek 2018-05-27 10:36:09 UTC
its a old bug, see also https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=447137 (its from 2008!)

Bug still present 2018 in RHEL7.5, see https://bugzilla.redhat.com/attachment.cgi?id=1442252, should be fixed.

Workaround: Use the group id instead the localized names, i.e:

* show group IDs: # yum group list ids

* instead using the localized name: # yum install Entwicklungswekzeuge
* simply use the id: # yum install development

Comment 5 Daniel Mach 2018-09-24 12:40:35 UTC
This is a comps translation problem.

Comment 17 Peter Kotvan 2020-02-17 21:20:48 UTC
Verified on RHEL-7.8-20200205.2.
