Description of problem:
EMC Unity Cinder driver has been merged upstream (Ocata) last December:
https://review.openstack.org/#/c/396477/
Since OSP10 is a LTS release it would make sense to evaluate the feasibility of backporting this driver.
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
openstack-cinder-9.1.1
How reproducible:
always.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. install OSP10
2. configure Cinder to interact with a EMC Unity storage according to:
https://docs.openstack.org/draft/config-reference/block-storage/drivers/dell-emc-unity-driver.html
3.
Actual results:
Cinder doesn't work as the driver is not there.
Expected results:
Cinder to work as expected.
Additional info:
Ryan Genato is the PM at Dell who supports the EMC Unity Driver. I pinged Ryan and informed him there's a customer behind this request. The good news is Ryan is also supporting creating the RPM package for the VNX Cinder driver.
Thanks,
Andre
