Description of problem:
Using alacarte, adding new separator are not reflected to GNOME Applications menu.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
3.7.90-8

How reproducible:
100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install alacarte
2. Start alacarte
3. Click "New Separator"
4. Click "Close" button

Actual results:
Nothing happens to GNOME Applications menu.

Expected results:
New Separator is added to GNOME Applications menu.

I have no issues adding separators into the menu using alacarte-3.11.91-1.el7 and gnome 3.26.
