Created attachment 1266522 [details] visible password Description of problem: attempting to login to the Overcloud dashboard, copied the passwd from the overcloudrc file and pasted it into the password field. the password was visible in clear text. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Red Hat OpenStack 10 platform How reproducible: Randomly, some times Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install OSP 10 2. Access the dashboard page in firefox 3. copy and paste the username, password. We could see clear text password. Actual results: Clear text password visible Expected results: mask character like * in the password field Additional info:
Did you click the "reveal password" icon (a small eye icon at the right side of the password field) when you were pasting it?
No, we (myself & Customer) pasted it in the password field and clicked connect button. We could see the password multiple times randomly. My firefox version 45.7.0 and Customer's firefox version is 45.8.0
I'm sorry, I can't reproduce it on my install, so I need to ask one more question. Does clicking the "reveal password" icon (an eye icon at the right side of the password field) hide the password again?
My firefox was updated to 52.0 version and i can still reproduce the issue. I don't see a reveal password icon but yes i clicked at the right corner of the password field and it hide the password. I think its a browser issue. i can clearly reproduce it now. Attaching the screenshot of where clearly my mouse pointer is on connect icon and clicking it shows password. doing it again hides it. moving the pointer just below the words connect has actually login me.
I think there is overlap of reveal password and the connect button. If I click on top end of the connect button, it is showing the password and hiding it if i clicked again.
Thanks, that is being fixed. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 1432036 ***
