Note: This bug is displayed in read-only format because
the product is no longer active in Red Hat Bugzilla.
Red Hat Satellite engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on Satellite to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs will be migrated starting at the end of May. If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/SAT-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

error message on clone template page
Description of problem:
Unable to clone the manager role while assigning it to a specific org from the selector.
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
How reproducible:
I select administer -> Roles and attempt to create an Org_admin role for an existing organization. I do this by cloning the "locked" Manager role. In the form I can add the name for the new role "org_admin_OrgName" but when I try to select the desired organization, I get an error message "is invalid". Also the text on the tab "Roles" turns red
The placement and FONT for the error message is also part of this BZ. The error message, if necessary, needs to be better placed with more information using a larger font
Steps to Reproduce:
1. clone the manager role
2. rename in the template, then select the desired organization
3. Select submit
Actual results:
See attached
Expected results:
New role is created and it is scoped to the desired org
Additional info:
Thanks for the report, could you please let me know what snap are you using so I can reproduce locally? Does anything change if you switch to "any context" in top left corner? If you could attach production.log while log level set to debug and SQL logger enabled it would help greatly. Please see the https://access.redhat.com/solutions/2252291 for instructions how to achieve that.
We didn't get the logs. I think this might be caused by another issue that was not cloning the built-in flag properly. I'll try to reproduce on new 6.3 build but if it's not reproducible I think we can close this.
This is caused by invalid organization. That is easy to cause by host being assigned to the organization while some of its resources such as subnet not. The fix is in progress, I'll link the related upstream issue.
Since the problem described in this bug report should be resolved in a recent advisory, it has been closed with a resolution of ERRATA.
