Comment 61 Fedora End Of Life 2018-05-03 08:33:14 UTC
This message is a reminder that Fedora 26 is nearing its end of life.
Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining
and issuing updates for Fedora 26. It is Fedora's policy to close all
bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time
this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version'
of '26'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version.

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not
able to fix it before Fedora 26 is end of life. If you would still like
to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version
of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora
version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

Comment 62 Fedora End Of Life 2018-05-29 11:54:59 UTC
Fedora 26 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2018-05-29. Fedora 26
is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any
further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of
Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you
are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the
current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this
bug.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.

This has happened at least as recently as F29, with the same backtrace. Now closing all dupes I can find and re-opening this.

Comment 70 Adam Williamson 2018-09-26 18:20:43 UTC
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1578494 was the F29 report, but it's from early in the F29 cycle, still with libdnf-0.11.1-3.fc28 . More recently Christian Stadelmann claims to be hitting it in https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1578494#c16 , but doesn't actually show a backtrace, it's possible he's really encountering a different crasher. I have asked him for info.

Comment 71 Adam Williamson 2018-09-27 08:53:08 UTC
1434283, 1480846 and 1375895 are similar to this, they are all crashes between PackageKit's dnf backend and libdnf which happen in the same place in libdnf (repo_internalize_trigger), they just all get there in slightly different ways.

It is possible that https://github.com/rpm-software-management/libdnf/pull/596 will fix all of these crashes; it kinda depends on whether the problem is that repo_internalize_trigger is getting called on a libsolv repo that doesn't exist, or whether the libsolv repo exists but its association to a hawkey repo is somehow lost, so the lookup of hrepo in repo_internalize_trigger fails. The problem is definitely one of those two things, but I at least am not certain which it is in each case.

Comment 75 Ben Cotton 2019-10-31 20:31:43 UTC
This message is a reminder that Fedora 29 is nearing its end of life.
Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 29 on 2019-11-26.
It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer
maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a
Fedora 'version' of '29'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version.

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not
able to fix it before Fedora 29 is end of life.

Comment 76 Ben Cotton 2019-11-27 19:52:04 UTC
Fedora 29 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2019-11-26. Fedora 29 is
no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further
security or bug fix updates.
