Description of problem:

If running parole in a gnome wayland session, parole dies immediately.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Run parole inside a gnome-terminal

Actual results:
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

Expected results:

parole doesn't die
Additional info:
If running in a X11-Wayland session, no crash
