Proposed as a Blocker for 27-beta by Fedora user lnie using the blocker tracking app because: This is certainly a blocker for me,if an affected criteria must be put here, it will be the Alpha_Release_Criteria: When using a dedicated installer image, the installer must be able to complete an installation using the text, graphical and VNC installation interfaces.
I can reproduce this with Fedora-Server-netinst-x86_64-27-20170919.n.0.iso . The situation is much worse than suggested. The text mode always fails, you need to enter any spoke. Just boot the image with inst.text, selected text mode, and wait until repository metadata is downloaded. Once it is, anaconda will crash (without you doing anything). As it stands now, netinst in text mode is unusable. This doesn't happen with Fedora-Everything-netinst-x86_64-27-20170919.n.0.iso though. Only "edition" netinsts seem affected (server, workstation).
Traditional Server has been made non-release-blocking in favor or modular Server. We'll test this against modular Server once a compose is available. But for this very moment, we need to vote on blocker status just considering Workstation netinst (I tested it and it crashes. I also tested Cloud netinst and that one doesn't).
+1 blocker, it is likely a bug in fedora-productimg-server and fedora-productimg-workstation. as to Release blocking afaik traditional server is release blocking as Modular will not be ready for a little while
Discussed during blocker review [1]: AcceptedBlocker (beta) - This bug violates the alpha criterion: ""When using a dedicated installer image, the installer must be able to complete an installation using the text, graphical and VNC installation interfaces."
