Hey guys,

this is RH Beaker instance. I am a on a job and I want to copy system hostname to clipboard.

When I try to copy it, due to recent changes the hostname is no longer a plaintext but a drop down and you can't easily do that. You need to be 1px precise in order to copy that, I am failing like 9/10 times.

When I try to do the drop down where there is http link, it closes when I hover it, so I am unable to reach it. This is Chrome Stable 59 on Fedora.

Please redesign this so we can easily reach out to hostnames, a copy to clipboard button would be great, but please do not put it into dropdown as that's two clicks. I do this all the time.

Thanks for the detailed bug report and for making a video Lukas. So there are a few things going on here...

The drop-down for the system name was added late last year in Beaker 24.0, for bug 1366191. I agree that having a drop-down is not ideal, since it makes it much harder to select the FQDN. However we decided to go with it as the best way to solve a number of conflicting desires (have a look at that bz and the Gerrit patch if you are interested in more background).

Bear in mind that the drop-down already includes an item for "Copy hostname to clipboard" which is supposed to make that action easier, so you don't have to select the hostname.

However the problem you are talking about where the drop-down constantly closes itself and the text is impossible to select, is actually a mistake we introduced in Beaker 24.4 and will be fixed ASAP in 24.5: bug 1500142.
