Description Alberto Chiodi 2017-10-26 17:34:11 UTC
Created attachment 1343883 [details]
dmesg file in oops directory

Description of problem:

1) It may not be a bug but a disposal hardware management
2) from abrt files perhaps problem is in xorg-x11-drv-intel
(note: abrt tells me that it’s unable to produce report.
This report data from its files in “oops” directory)

Start eeepc and after few line of messages (I use pc with GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="rhgb quiet") graphics card products only artifacts on screen.
I cannot loggin in session, only reboot.
When I restart pc with older kernel (4.12.13-200) it’s work, but after I logging in session system produce messages about modified initrams 4.12.13-200.
I have to proceed with a “dracut -f” command in /boot directory for restoring system functionality (with older kernel) without alarm messages

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

ASUS Eee PC 901 - 8.9" - Atom N270 - 1 GB RAM - 20 GB SSD
CPU Intel Atom N270 / 1.6 GHz
Cache L2 - 512 KB
Data Bus Speed 533 MHz
Chipset Type Mobile Intel 945GSE Express
abrt version 2.9.0
architecture i686
kernel 4.13.5-100.fc25.i686

How reproducible:

Everytime you switch on pc

Actual results:

It seems that kernel is working but, at the end of charging os, on screen there is only artifacts and it’s impossible logging in session.

Expected results:

Logging in session

The same thing

Comment 3 Jeff Backus 2017-11-04 14:36:56 UTC
Hi Alberto,

What was the last version of the kernel that worked for you?

Comment 4 Jeff Backus 2017-11-04 15:01:10 UTC
Looks like this may be related to issues:
* bug 1438258
* bug 1498725
* bug 1507055

Comment 5 Alberto Chiodi 2017-11-04 17:52:29 UTC

Imagine of my screen after booting

Confirm relation with other bugs reported by Jeff Backus
My computer begins its boot.
After few line left part of the screen products artifacts and right is black.
At the end of the boot this is the screen.
I discovered that if I digit my password I can open my session but only right part of the screen present background image; left part of the screen remain the same.
No mouse is visible on the screen also I think it's working.
I can only switch off pressing on/off button.
Perhaps menu's working but I don't see it

Comment 7 Fedora End Of Life 2017-11-16 19:26:39 UTC
This message is a reminder that Fedora 25 is nearing its end of life.
Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining
and issuing updates for Fedora 25. It is Fedora's policy to close all
bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time
this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version'
of '25'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version.

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not
able to fix it before Fedora 25 is end of life. If you would still like
to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version
of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora
version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

Comment 8 Fedora End Of Life 2017-12-12 10:05:10 UTC
Fedora 25 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2017-12-12. Fedora 25 is
no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further
security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of
Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you
are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the
current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.

Note You need to log in before you can comment on or make changes to this bug.
