Description Radim Hrazdil 2017-11-02 14:58:05 UTC
Description of problem:
When new VM is created in RHV admin portal and running (with active and running guest agent), CFME fails to refresh status of this VM. Power state remains "unknown". Status "Never verified"

When trying to full refresh the vm, an error appears in evm.log (see attachement)

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
CFME 5.0.9.2
RHV 4.1.3

How reproducible:
very

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a VM in RHV admin portal (I used golden_mixed_virtio_template)
2. Run the VM
3. Go to CFME and check status of the VM.

Actual results:
VM remains in "never verified" status

Expected results:
CFME should be able to refresh VM information

Please upload the whole log. The part provided is not enough to understand what happened.

Comment 4 Piotr Kliczewski 2017-11-03 10:45:59 UTC
I attempted to verify with following steps:
1. Login to admin portal
2. create a vm (with disk and network)
3. start that vm
4. check the status in manageiq

Result:
Vm was in `UP` state as expected.

I tested with latest manageiq (master) and a week old engine (master).

Please provide complete logs or steps how to reproduce it.

full evm.log

Here is the full log. I was able to reproduce it again, following the step given in description - 1. create vm in RHV admin portal, run it. 2. Go to cfme "Virtual Machines" 3. Find the vm, see detail, try to refresh. 4. VM shows still state "unknown"

When I got to work today, I found out that the VM I created yesterday was in CFME already reported as "UP" along with all other information, but the time it must had taken is too long.

I checked the env you told me to and I see that you faced the issue solved bu BZ #1501162. I would mark this as duplicate.

Comment 7 Radim Hrazdil 2017-11-03 13:23:11 UTC
After discussion with Piotr Kliczewski marking as duplicate of BZ #1501162.
