simple-scan-3.12.2-1.el7.x86_64 simple-scan-3.26.1-1.fc27.x86_64.rpm Please consider upgrading Simple Scan to match Fedora. Lots of nice things have been added and bugs fixed. Many thanks, -T
Simple Scan is not in EPEL, only in RHEL. However, packages in EPEL are explicitly forbidden from being updated versions of the versions in RHEL: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/EPEL#What_is_Extra_Packages_for_Enterprise_Linux_.28or_EPEL.29.3F "EPEL packages are usually based on their Fedora counterparts and will never conflict with or replace packages in the base Enterprise Linux distributions."
Created attachment 1350690 [details] Simple-scan pbone search results Hi David, Are you sure? I went to post this over on RHEL, but could not find it in the pull down. So I looked in pbone.net and its is only in EPEL and Nux (I attached search result). I also redid my "whatprovides". Would you please re-evaluate your statement? Maybe simple-scan is know by another name in RHEL? Many thanks, -T $ yum --enablerepo=* whatprovides simple-scan ... simple-scan-3.10.0-1.el7.nux.x86_64 : Simple scanning utility Repo : nux-dextop simple-scan-3.12.2-1.el7.x86_64 : Simple scanning utility Repo : epel simple-scan-3.12.2-1.el7.x86_64 : Simple scanning utility Repo : @epel
simple-scan is not actually packaged in EPEL 7 on dist-git. I think it is packaged in RHEL or CentOS official repositories: https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/simple-scan So, I am marking this ticket as duplicate of bug #1755816 since that is an EPEL 8 request, which could be considered more as a "please package for EPEL" ticket. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 1755816 ***
[Solved] Just remove the user's config and so good rm -Rf /home/"user"/.cache/simple-scan
