Description Tal Nisan 2018-02-08 15:37:58 UTC
Since ISO disks can be stored on data domains and the deprecation of ISO domains, given a tool to convert ISO domains to data domains the notion of ISO domain should be removed.

Comment 1 Michal Skrivanek 2018-02-09 07:08:15 UTC
Note you need to solve iso drop downs in VM dialogs and ChangeCD. If there is no single iso domain we need to either merge isos from all SDs or have an additional selection (for that there's also changecd in virt-viewer)

Comment 2 John Call 2019-04-18 13:25:00 UTC
Booting directly from a kernel/initrd also requires an ISO domain.

As does virt-v2v integration for guest tools iso

Do we have any customer-facing documentation about this? Either official docs, or KCS / KBase articles? Seems like there are a lot of "things" that require an ISO domain. It would be good to have something to point customers to when they're deciding to create on, or not.

Are there any plans to allow uploading .iso images into an ISO domain via the Web UI? Customers like being able to upload disk images to DATA domains, and expect the same behavior for ISOs. We (sales team) lose lots of happy thoughts when they realize it doesn't work. :(
