This bugzilla is included in oVirt 4.2.1 release, published on Feb 12th 2018. Since the problem described in this bug report should be resolved in oVirt 4.2.1 release, it has been closed with a resolution of CURRENT RELEASE. The patch on the 4.1 branch is a combination of both patches from master. The tag 'ovirt-engine-4.1.11.1' contains the 4.1 patch, moving to ON_QA.
The bug is verified on rhv-release-4.1.11-1-001.noarch. The steps for reproducing: 1. Choose cluster/Edit/Optimization tab. Enable KSM 2. Mode 'Share memory pages across all available memory' is set. Result: on each active host cat sys/kernel/mm/ksm/merge_across_nodes = 1 3. Put active host in maintenance, change on cluster KSM mode to 'Share memory pages inside NUMA nodes'. Activate host Result: on each active host cat sys/kernel/mm/ksm/merge_across_nodes = 0. 4. Put active host in maintenance, change on cluster KSM mode to 'Share memory pages across all available memory'. Activate host Result: on each active host cat sys/kernel/mm/ksm/merge_across_nodes = 1.
