Description Bernhard Ege 2000-08-07 12:59:50 UTC
I noticed that the AMD 7409 chipset wasn't supported in the 2.2.16-17
kernel. As a user (and probably not the only one), I would like to see that
support. All it requires, is basically to apply a patch found here:

http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/hedrick/

The patch is called ide.2.2.16.all.20000805.patch.bz2 and would be more or
less easy to apply. It enables DMA support for the AMD7409 chipset, which
boosts performance quite a bit.

regards,

Bernhard Ege

The patch is not stable enough for us to use yet. We expect it to be stable
enoughfor the next
release. In the mean time glad the patch helps you
