Description of problem: We have been using a common network install of mozilla 1.7.7 from mozilla.org. Starting to shift to the mozilla provided in Fedora. The Fedora mozilla does not display some chinese characters properly. The common install version does. This may not just be a mozilla issue (may be some underlying library) as firefox does the same. Have not tested any other browsers. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): mozilla-1.7.8-2 How reproducible: Everytime Steps to Reproduce: 1. go to cn.yahoo.com I don't read chinese, this was reported by one of our users, so I can't exactly say what's up with the test. Will attach a screen shot of bad text and of good text.

Problem persists with mozilla-1.7.10-1.5.1. Problem does not exist with the stock 1.7.10 from mozilla, as well as the GTK2+Xft version that they provide.
Just adding a "me too". This problem was reported by some of our Chinese users. Does not show up in FC3. Could it be related to bug #165195 ?
Shouldn't both be using the same font directories? Also, I don't any /usr/share/fonts/<lang> directories. Should I?
Still a problem with firefox 1.5.0.7 in FC5.
Is this still an issue in FC6?
Do you have font packages such as fonts-chinese-3.02-6.fc6 installed??
Yeah, that did the trick :-). I guess the mozilla package from mozilla.org must package some fonts as well and that's what threw me. Sorry about that.
