From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050909 Epiphany/1.6.5 Description of problem: The "Written by" tab in the evolutions credits window is empty. The "Documented by" tab seems to be fine. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): evolution-2.2.3-2.fc4 How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open Evolution 2. Click "Help" in the main menu and select "About Evolution..." 3. Click the "Credits" button and go to the "Written by" tab. Actual Results: It is empty. Expected Results: It should have listed the names of the Evolution hackers. Additional info: This also happened on my Gentoo box about two months ago (Gentoo bug #98491[1]), and Leonardo mentioned that the author list needed a patch to fix an invalid character in it. Not to be rude or anything, but it's been more than a month and still no fix for this? Not even status from a dev? :( (Granted, it's nothing major at all..)
Thanks for the bug report (and the reminder) I've been treating this as a low priority issue, as it seems to work OK in the latest development builds (2.4.*), and I have plenty of other bugs that I'm working on, alas. If you provide me with a patch, I'll put out an update for FC4, but otherwise I'm not planning to spend time on this. Thanks for your understanding (and if you can supply a patch, that'd be great - is it actually fixed in Gentoo: I couldn't see the patch in that bugzilla entry)
Thanks, Dave. According to the Gentoo changelog[1], the patch was applied from upstream in their 2.2.3-r1 release, so I can only presume it's been fixed in the the 2.4 Evolution. I'll try it out on my Rawhide install when I get home and let you know how it goes. [1] http://www.gentoo.org/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/*checkout*/mail-client/evolution/ChangeLog
Erm. I just noticed that the patch was there too. http://www.gentoo.org/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/*checkout*/mail-client/evolution/files/evolution-2.2.3-credits.patch
Thanks! I've pushed out a test update for FC4 with that patch: https://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-test-list/2005-November/msg00005.html Please can you test that update and confirm that it fixes things.
Seems to be just fine now. Thanks a lot, Dave. :)

2.2.3-4 was pushed out to FC4 updates some time ago which fixed this. I'm closing this bug, then. Thanks!
