I went through a 6.2 NFS install and got to the create boot disk part, where the program just hung... I eventually killed the mkbootdisk and cp 
processes from virtual terminal 2 and skipped the boot disk creation...  when I stuck the same disk in to make a boot disk on my own, 
mkbootdisk reported that the disk was write-protected (I had inadvertantly moved the little thingy on the disk - duh).

anyway, just reporting that the installer did not handle situation properly...
