Description Arjan Dekker 2019-08-21 12:16:06 UTC
Description of problem:
I am trying to install the Nagios NRPE agent on a new RHEL8 server.
When i try to install the package "nagios-plugins-nrpe" it fails.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
nagios-plugins-nrpe-3.2.1-9.el8.x86_64

How reproducible:
yum install nagios-plugins-nrpe

Steps to Reproduce:
1. New RHEL8 server
2. yum install nagios-plugins-nrpe

Actual results:
Error:
 Problem: conflicting requests
  - nothing provides nagios-plugins needed by nagios-plugins-nrpe-3.2.1-9.el8.x86_64
(try to add '--skip-broken' to skip uninstallable packages or '--nobest' to use not only best candidate packages)

Expected results:
A happy working Nagios NRPE client with multiple plugins, like users, load, procs etc.

Additional info:

Comment 1 Arjan Dekker 2019-08-21 12:23:54 UTC
Also the nagios-plugins-* packages seems to be missing in EPEL-8.
Are there any plans to upload them to EPEL-8?

We like to use at least:
nagios-plugins-users
nagios-plugins-load
nagios-plugins-procs

Thanks in advance.

Comment 2 Stephen John Smoogen 2019-08-21 13:22:25 UTC
Currently nagios-plugins is not possible in EPEL-8. There are a load of packages which need to be added due to missing dependencies.

Comment 3 Stephen John Smoogen 2019-08-26 13:21:50 UTC
I am closing this to track it with the nagios-plugins account
