Description of problem: At the current state we don't have a msi to install virtio-win drivers, We want to have a msi as part of virtio-win iso to install all the drivers and relevant agents. At the current state we have a pre-whql build (947757) that is prepered for the msi. We have a GitHub project https://github.com/virtio-win/virtio-win-guest-tools-installer, that creates a msi based on Wix toolset that will soon be built as part of the iso.
What would you change it to?
Got it. Fine with me. Red Hat Virtualization 4.3 and oVirt use different installers for the virtio drivers and guest tools for Windows. Red Hat Virtualization 4.4 uses the new installer based on the Wix toolset, which is provided inside the virtio-win ISO file.
pmatyas I added you to this bug as a QE contact since you have experiance in testing the RHV\oVirt Installer and this installer replaces it, you can sync with virtio-win QE to get help with the testing, the upstream package is available on: https://fedorapeople.org/groups/virt/virtio-win/direct-downloads/archive-virtio/virtio-win-0.1.173-2/
same bug with bz1745298. Change status to verified as bz1745298 is veified
This bug is against the upstream product=Virtualization Tools but it has accumulated some RHEL flags. There's already a RHEL bug for this (bug 1745298), so closing this one, as the installer is being distributed in the public RPM/ISO already
