Description Tim Waugh 2005-12-05 10:59:22 UTC
Description of problem:
I get PANIC errors when booting FC5test1 disc1 x86_64 on an AMD Opteron. I get
the 'boot:' prompt at the bottom of the welcome screen, but after I press enter
and it loads the kernel and the initrd, the screen clears and displays:

kernel direct mapping tables upto ffff810100000000 @ 8000-d000
PANIC: early exception rip ffffffff8063b05d error 0 cr2 4228
PANIC: early exception rip ffffffff8011d1de error 0 cr2 ffffffffff5fd023

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
FC5test1, so kernel-2.6.14-1.1696_FC5.x86_64.rpm

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Boot disc1
2. Press enter

Also this machine has 3Gb of memory so this might be a duplicate of bug #174655.
