Description of problem:
Subdivion surface modifier doesn't apply, returns error: modifier returned error, skipping apply. 

How reproducible:
Just by tring to applying subdivion surface modifier (in my case a torus)

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Creating a new mesh
2. Adding subdivision surface modifier
3. Doesn't apply nor in viewport nor in render

Actual results:
It simply doesn't apply

Expected results:
It should apply and smoothen the surface

Additional info:
Probably didn't builded with opensubdiv support.
Flatpak version works.
