Customer deployed the patched RPM yesterday on the compute node where OVS had crashed before.  They are monitoring that node for another OVS crash.  It is not clear if this had happened more than once before, however.

It's a difficult race/crash to pin down, so we can only hope that these fixes were the root cause, at the moment.

Clarification:

- The patch is not a fix. It's a debug enabled rpm.

This will most likely make it into 13z12 and not 13z11. There is a 13z11 asynch due out on Apr 1 but that will be to upgrade from RHEL 7.7 to 7.8. 13z12 has no release date but is estimated to be around May 20.

Following the dependency chain - this bug depends on 1804377 (closed errata) which depends on 1826886 (closed errata) on 05/26 with release openvswitch-2.9.0-128.el7fdn. Closing this bug.
