Problem still there kernel-2.6.15-1.1898_FC5

Comment 2 Dave Jones 2006-02-03 20:32:28 UTC
can you capture the traceback maybe with a digital camera?
(if so: Boot with vga=791 or vga=1 to get more lines of text onscreen)

Sorry about quality, hope it helps

I have tested every kernel update since before FC5T2, and only since 1895 has
this happened.	It does not happen with 1884 or earlier.

This is using VANILLA 2.6.16-rc2 with .config copied from
kernel-2.6.15-1.1898_FC5. Looks like the same problem.

Comment 5 Dave Jones 2006-02-04 04:09:26 UTC
that's cpufreq doing a divide by zero. Tomorrows kernel should have a fix for
this, but even if it boots, please attach a dmesg after it boots, as there may
be a warning in there that'll help narrow down where this problem came from.

Comments were missing. Today's kernel kernel-2.6.15-1.1907_FC5
does NOT fix the problem. Here is a picture captured from 1907 boot.

Comment 8 Dave Jones 2006-02-05 07:37:59 UTC
ouch, that's a backtrace from hell.
hopefully the acpi guys have some clues on that one.

Comment 9 Dave Jones 2006-02-10 02:45:15 UTC
fixed in 2.6.15-1.1926
