Description of problem: The current version of python-augeas (0.5.0) is pretty old -- released more than 5 years and half ago. The releases after that had a bumpy ride, however the recent release (1.1.0, released few days ago) should be hopefully stable enough. What about updating it in Fedora?
A rough summary of the changes: - binding rewritten from ctypes to ffi - added specific exceptions with the details of the augeas errors (should help users to figure out what happened) - added Augeas.copy() API - PEP8 compliant - skeleton of RST documentation - various cleanups
This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 32 development cycle. Changing version to 32.
Package candidates have been pushed for f33>rawhide. Check 'em out?
Some of the updates caused issues in the builds, nothing that mark the RPMs as unstable but I am gonna try resolving them.
This package has changed maintainer in Fedora. Reassigning to the new maintainer of this component.
Closing this BZ as Fedora 37 comes with version 1.1.0 of this package: https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=2022150
