Description Pino Toscano 2020-02-06 12:50:29 UTC
Description of problem:
The current version of python-augeas (0.5.0) is pretty old -- released more than 5 years and half ago.
The releases after that had a bumpy ride, however the recent release (1.1.0, released few days ago) should be hopefully stable enough.

What about updating it in Fedora?

Comment 1 Pino Toscano 2020-02-06 13:07:42 UTC
A rough summary of the changes:
- binding rewritten from ctypes to ffi
- added specific exceptions with the details of the augeas errors (should help users to figure out what happened)
- added Augeas.copy() API
- PEP8 compliant
- skeleton of RST documentation
- various cleanups

Comment 2 Ben Cotton 2020-02-11 17:18:02 UTC
This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 32 development cycle.
Changing version to 32.

Comment 3 Greg Swift 2021-06-29 20:52:35 UTC
Package candidates have been pushed for f33>rawhide.

Check 'em out?

Comment 4 Greg Swift 2021-06-30 18:31:43 UTC
Some of the updates caused issues in the builds, nothing that mark the RPMs as unstable but I am gonna try resolving them.
