Description of problem: Please build python-SecretStorage for EPEL 8. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): python-SecretStorage-3.1.2-2.fc33 Actual results: No python-SecretStorage in EPEL 8. Expected results: python-SecretStorage-3.1.2-2.el8 - or better ;-) Additional info: Please let me know if you are not interested in maintaining the package on EPEL 8 branch.
William, may I kindly ask you to respond here?
William, can you please provide some reaction at all? Otherwise, I'll proceed with the non-responsive maintainer policy.
Well, I'd agree with Robert generally because RHEL8 is announced to get a rolling release model, so we should do with epel8 as well and try to build new versions there asap similiar to rawhide policy.
python-SecretStorage is optional dependency for backintime, so we'd at least check if backintime still works with the new version installed. Oh, there's no package yet in epel8 to work with python-SecretStorage 2.1.1 (though six years old) but epel7 with very old version (1.1.2).
I don't expect a rolling release model for EPEL 8, but at least branching to EPEL 8 *at* *all* (with at least a semi-recent version).

Hi Robert, I don't have the time unfortunately to maintain an EPEL8 branch of python-SecretStorage. However I could make you a co-maintainer if you wish in order to maintain that branch, or maybe Raphael could step in if he is interested?
Hi Charalampos, thanks for the co-maintainer offer but currently I fail to find enough time to actively maintain at least my own packages, besides I seem to been already involved in backintime (still in usage here) as well as python-SecretStorage and then stepped out for known reasons.
Okay, in the end I need python-SecretStorage as dependency for python-keyring. As Raphael stated a lack of time, I would try to take care of it in EPEL 8...Charalampos, would you thus add me as co-maintainer, please?
Oh, sorry, forgot to mention it - FAS: robert

Of course. No worries, it's a volunteer effort after all. I'll make Robert a co-maintainer.

Do not hesitate to contact me either here, IRC or mail if you get any issues along the way. Clearing the needinfo on William.
Ok, thanks. Too many co-maintainers may imho not the best solution to choose while ignore cooperation, especially in cases of libraries as we see here.
