Description Ethan Bowering 2021-01-23 22:17:15 UTC
Description of problem:
On the latest kernel version, bringing the Wacom stylus to proximity of my screen/touching the screen with it crashes the system. Choosing kernel 5.8.15-301.fc33.x86_64 at boot fixes it, however booting into the latest one causes a crash when the stylus is used.

Power button must be held to reset the computer

Laptop is a Thinkpad X1 Yoga Gen 3.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:
Every time on new kernel version

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Boot into latest kernel
2. Try and touch screen with stylus

Actual results:
System freeze

Expected results:
Cursor responds to stylus input

Additional info:
First bug report, apologies if incorrect

In my case, see https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1918486, kernel 5.10.8 was the first one causing the error, but the whole system does not crash, only the touch screen stops working.

Ethan, in https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1918486#c14 you said the kernel update works, does this mean we can close this issue here as duplicate?
