Description Peter Larsen 2021-03-30 16:33:46 UTC
Description of problem:
Update/install of samba-vfs-glusterfs drags in samba-client-libs from the rhgs repository. This repository includes the libsmbldap.so.2 file - which ldconfig requires to be a symlink.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
samba-client-libs-4.12.6-102.el8rhgs.x86_64

How reproducible:
On install

Expected result:
Content of package to be compliant with ldconfig requirements/standards.

Comment 1 Anoop C S 2021-06-08 13:07:58 UTC
I couldn't reproduce the issue. Installation of samba-vfs-glusterfs(pulling in samba-client-libs) went fine without any ldconfig warning. Do you have any other libsmbldap.so.* under /usr/lib64/ ?

# rpm -q samba-client-libs
samba-client-libs-4.13.7-101.el8rhgs.x86_64
# ldconfig
# ldconfig -n /usr/lib64/

Comment 2 Anoop C S 2021-06-14 11:41:50 UTC
Ok. Even though I am yet to reproduce the issue, I could get some background around it and a possible fix[1] after discussing with Samba upstream. Also I am linking similar bz #1947945 to the current bug report. Patch will be part of v4.14 version series.
