Description Hemant Kumar 2021-04-28 14:47:55 UTC
disable volume expansion support in vsphere csi driver storage class

Comment 1 Hemant Kumar 2021-04-28 14:48:50 UTC
We should disable it from storageclass for now - https://github.com/openshift/vmware-vsphere-csi-driver-operator/blob/master/assets/storageclass.yaml

Comment 2 Jonathan Dobson 2021-05-11 18:55:02 UTC
Volume expansion is being disabled because the vSphere CSI driver is still in beta and has several limitations. First, it does not support volume expansion universally (see https://vsphere-csi-driver.sigs.k8s.io/supported_features_matrix.html). Second, volume expansion is not supported for all datastores (vSAN only right now). And finally, we do not yet have a e2e test for it.

Correction: it is only volume expansion support which is still in beta for this driver.

Comment 6 Wei Duan 2021-05-17 07:04:35 UTC
Verified pass on 4.8.0-0.nightly-2021-05-15-141455:

$ oc get sc thin-csi
NAME PROVISIONER RECLAIMPOLICY VOLUMEBINDINGMODE ALLOWVOLUMEEXPANSION AGE
