Description of problem: Kernel 2.6.17-1.2139_FC5 will not automount data DVD anymore Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): FC 5 (i386), kernel 2.6.17-1.2139_FC5 How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Log in. I use KDE, but I don't think DE matters. 2. Pop in a data DVD Actual results: Nothing happens. The DVD spins but that's all. Expected results: The dialog box pops up asking whether to open a new window for the media or do nothing. The DVD should be mounted as well. Additional info: The exact same DVD automounts just fine under 2.6.16-1.2133_FC5.
A new kernel update has been released (Version: 2.6.18-1.2200.fc5) based upon a new upstream kernel release. Please retest against this new kernel, as a large number of patches go into each upstream release, possibly including changes that may address this problem.
