The plan was not actually to backport this to 4.9 so we recently closed the corresponding rook BZ for this: 2027396
Documentation also needs to be updated with this new flag (it's really a new feature), so I'd recommend we just keep this in 4.10.
If there was some other urgency to backport, let's reopen for discussion.
