Please branch and build mkdocs in EPEL 9. If you do not wish to maintain mkdocs in EPEL 9, or do not think you will be able to do this in a timely manner, the EPEL Packagers SIG would be happy to be a co-maintainer of the package; please add the epel-packagers-sig group through https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/mkdocs/addgroup and grant it commit access, or collaborator access on epel* branches.
Will you be able to branch and build mkdocs in epel9? The EPEL Packagers SIG would be happy to be a co-maintainer if you do not wish to build it on epel9.

This has been retired in rawhide and has several missing deps for epel9: No matching package to install: 'bootswatch-fonts' No matching package to install: 'python3dist(mdx-gh-links)' No matching package to install: 'python3dist(mkdocs-redirects)' Do you still need it?

Yes.
mkdocs is and will remain incompatible with the current python-markdown for the forseable future, hence it was retired in rawhide, as PIP + venv is the better choice for users (and no package BuildRequires mkdocs). What's the reason for needing it in EL9?
I've discussed this out of band with Neal and we're going to be targeting EPEL 10 directly instead. We want this in EPEL because CentOS uses mkdocs for its documentation.
