Please branch and build python-pika in epel9. If you do not wish to maintain python-pika in epel9, or do not think you will be able to do this in a timely manner, I would be happy to be a co-maintainer of the package (FAS noon); please add me through https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/python-pika/adduser Thanks!
Thanks for your request. As I get error 403 "You are not allowed to change the settings for this project" you should ask some admin of that package, so no idea why I got assigned for this issue.
For whatever historical reason, you are the “Bugzilla Assignee” for EPEL for python-pika, even though you are not currently a maintainer for it. Ilia, or possibly Neal, could you update the EPEL assignee to a current maintainer, or add and assign Fabrice? Thanks!
FWIW, src.fp.org tells I did some commits 5 years ago. Afterwards I've decided to orphan but it seems to not work. HTH

Thanks! I do not have the ability to fix the assignee. I get an error when I try.

Looks like we're missing a few packages: No matching package to install: 'python3-mock' No matching package to install: 'python3-nose2' No matching package to install: 'python3-twisted'

It can be done directly on the https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/python-pika page by the main admin. It seems like other admins should be able to do it too, but I seem to remember that not being possible in other cases, too. I don’t know if there is any other way.
The python3-mock dependency would need to be patched out in accordance with https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/DeprecatePythonMock. It’s possible that the tests could be run with pytest instead of nose2; I would have to be in front of a real computer to check. I don’t know if python-twisted will be branched for EPEL9 or not: bug 2049035. It looks like twisted support in pika is optional and is associated with an extra that could be omitted. (The Fedora package doesn’t yet have extras metapackages, though: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/PythonExtras#Extras_metapackages) If I had a personal interest in this package, I might offer the necessary PRs, but I don’t, so I probably won’t.

It should be fixed now by have dropped a false overlay.
FYI I have submitted a pull request upstream to get rid of the "mock" dependency: https://github.com/pika/pika/pull/1356
FYI the pull request for the "mock" dependency has been merged upstream.
