RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description Jonathan Wright 2022-08-17 21:50:41 UTC
Hi,

Can you please ship yara-devel in CentOS stream 9 (and RHEL 9.1+)? It's already being built based on the spec file, it just doesn't appear to be in the repos.

There are numerous EPEL packages that will be blocked if this is not shipped.

I'm hoping to get ahead of this so it can go in AppStream instead of CRB.

Comment 1 Mark Huth 2022-08-19 00:34:01 UTC
Hi @jonathan I'm a bit of a newbie at package building / shipping. I have the yara-devel packages from building the yara package, eg[1][2], but I don't know what to do next. What are the steps for adding yara-devel to Centos stream & RHEL9? I'm guessing it'll need to go into RHEL8.7 as well?

Comment 2 Jonathan Wright 2022-08-19 02:41:44 UTC
I wish I could be of some help but I honestly have no idea. I'm not a red hatter so I'm not sure how the internal systems work.

Comment 3 Jonathan Wright 2022-08-19 02:41:58 UTC
And yes, 8.7 as well please.

Comment 4 Mark Huth 2022-08-19 12:38:38 UTC
I'm curious Johnathan, why is it being in CRB a problem? (probably another noob question)

Comment 5 Jonathan Wright 2022-08-19 15:20:14 UTC
Doh, I was thinking of the main yara package. yara-devel would be totally fine in CRB/PowerTools.
