Steps to Reproduce:
1. Startup the Software Updater utility or the Add/Remove Software utility

Actual Results:
The software proceeded to initialize itself when the Exception Occurred dialog box poped up

Expected Results:
The Package Updater should have presented me with a list of software to install/remove

Additional info:
This occured after a previous software update
