Description Fedora QA Tools SIG 2023-11-27 08:49:33 UTC
Workstation live x86_64 image https://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org/compose/rawhide/Fedora-Rawhide-20231127.n.0/compose/Workstation/x86_64/iso/Fedora-Workstation-Live-x86_64-Rawhide-20231127.n.0.iso from compose Fedora-Rawhide-20231127.n.0 is 2207320064 bytes, exceeding the maximum size 2200000000. Canonical maximum sizes can be found at https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/releases/f40/spins/ and https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/releases/f40/blocking/ . This check is run by the 'relval' tool, which has its own list of maximum sizes derived from those pages. If the maximum size used for this comparison is wrong, please add a comment and file a bug against relval at https://pagure.io/fedora-qa/relval/issues and it will be corrected. If you believe the canonical maximum size for an image should be changed, please follow the appropriate process before filing a relval bug.

See https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2251688#c1 - I suspect the linux-firmware growth is the cause here too.

Comment 12 Adam Williamson 2024-01-22 18:08:40 UTC
This has been under discussion at https://pagure.io/fesco/issue/3122 . I have now made a recommendation to FESCo in https://pagure.io/fesco/issue/3122#comment-892727 and proposed it as a PR in https://pagure.io/fedora-pgm/pgm_docs/pull-request/64 .

Comment 13 Adam Williamson 2024-01-23 17:00:25 UTC
Per https://pagure.io/fesco/issue/3122#comment-892767 the limit for Workstation live can be considered bumped to 2.3G, so closing this. I have updated the JSON file that backs relval's change already, the PR for the public-facing doc is https://pagure.io/fedora-pgm/pgm_docs/pull-request/64 , I am waiting for the FESCo decision on netinst size before merging that.
