Comment 5 Upstream Release Monitoring 2024-08-04 17:34:04 UTC
the-new-hotness/release-monitoring.org's scratch build of cmark-0.31.1-1.fc40.src.rpm for rawhide completed http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=121490359

Comment 6 Jens Petersen 2025-09-15 05:37:35 UTC
I think we should do this at least for F44...

0.31.1 is already a year old now

Comment 7 Jens Petersen 2025-09-15 05:41:31 UTC
The following packages need to be rebuilt at least:

$ frpq 44 wr 'libcmark.so.0.30.3()(64bit)' | grep -v cmark-
evolution-3.58.0-1.fc44.x86_64 (fedora-rawhide)
gnome-builder-49~rc-2.fc44.x86_64 (fedora-rawhide)
mkvtoolnix-gui-94.0-1.fc44.x86_64 (fedora-rawhide)
neochat-25.08.0-2.fc44.x86_64 (fedora-rawhide)
nheko-0.12.1-4.fc44.x86_64 (fedora-rawhide)
perl-Clownfish-CFC-0.6.3-30.fc43.x86_64 (fedora-rawhide)
perl-CommonMark-0.310100-4.fc43.x86_64 (fedora-rawhide)

Well it might be better to hold off until after the F43 final freeze is lifted perhaps

Comment 8 Jens Petersen 2025-10-06 09:51:20 UTC
I created https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/cmark-0.31 for completeness

Comment 9 Jens Petersen 2026-01-03 10:42:32 UTC
Better query:

$ for i in $(frpq -s 44 --wr *cmark* --qf n); do (echo -n "$i: "; frpq -s 44 -r $i | grep cmark | grep -v ^cmark$) | grep -v pulldown-cmark | grep -v cmarkgfm; done
evolution: pkgconfig(libcmark)
foundry: pkgconfig(libcmark)
gnome-builder: pkgconfig(libcmark)
mkvtoolnix: pkgconfig(libcmark)
neochat: pkgconfig(libcmark)
nheko: pkgconfig(libcmark) >= 0.29.0
perl-Clownfish-CFC: cmark-devel
perl-CommonMark: cmark-devel >= 0.21.0

So one more dependent: foundry

Comment 10 Jens Petersen 2026-01-03 11:41:59 UTC
Actually this (earlier) simple query is sufficient:

$ frpq 44 --wr 'libcmark.so.0.30.3()(64bit)' --qf "%{source_name}"
cmark
evolution
foundry
gnome-builder
mkvtoolnix
neochat
nheko
perl-Clownfish-CFC
perl-CommonMark

Right now evolution-3.59.1 in Rawhide has a broken filelist (being built in another sidetag).

Everything else seems to build fine though with the new cmark (including current evolution-3.58.2).

Comment 11 Jens Petersen 2026-01-03 11:54:22 UTC
The rawhide sidetag is 'f44-build-side-125502'.

Comment 12 Jens Petersen 2026-01-03 12:11:32 UTC
I suggest or plan to use the following changelog entry:

- rebuild for https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/cmark-0.31

FYI: If you want to rebuild your package(s) in the above sidetag you can go ahead,
otherwise I plan to rebuild them all on Monday or Tuesday before the F44 Mass rebuild starts on Wednesday.

(If you do plan to build it would help if you let me know.)

Comment 13 Jens Petersen 2026-01-03 12:18:41 UTC
There are the koji scratch builds for reference
(note there are 2 per package: one for x86_64 and one for the other archs):

(the evolution-3.59.1 fail is the one mentioned above)
Output is from: "koji-tool tasks -m build --user petersen -l17"

Comment 14 Jens Petersen 2026-01-03 13:22:48 UTC
(I am also willing to open PRs (as long as you build them in the right sidetag;)
but these should all be trivial Release bumps I believe, so it feels like overhead.)

Comment 15 Jens Petersen 2026-01-05 14:08:40 UTC
I have built all the dependent packages except evolution (which is being version updated in another sidetag).

Comment 16 Milan Crha 2026-01-05 14:17:59 UTC
You are right, Evolution 3.59.1 requires evolution-data-server 3.59.1, which changes API, and soname versions, thus it's in a side tag. I'm waiting only for geary to be rebuilt in that side tag (f44-build-side-125448) to merge the packages and then the cmark change can be done.
