Bug 2271626

Summary: [rgw/LC transition]: A few buckets stuck in UNINITIAL state when applying LC policy to multiple buckets

Target Milestone: ---Keywords: Automation
Target Release: 7.0z2
Hardware: Unspecified
OS: Unspecified
Whiteboard:
Fixed In Version: ceph-18.2.0-164.el9cp Doc Type: Bug Fix
Doc Text:
Previously, when skipping the non-exist LC entry, instead of using the get_next_entry() parameter, the logic used advance_head() to fetch the next entry and in case the cycle finished for that shard, the head would reset. Due to this, lifecycle for an affected bucket would never start causing a few buckets stuck in UNINITIAL state when applying LC policy to multiple buckets. With this fix, new shared rollover logic is added and buckets formerly skipped are now processed.
