Description Nils Philippsen 2024-08-15 14:22:02 UTC
Please branch and build python-pytest-xdist in epel10. I'd like to
add python-rpmautospec/-core in bug 2305083 into EPEL10 but python3-pytest-xdist
is a prerequisite.

Comment 1 Miro Hrončok 2024-08-20 09:52:51 UTC
python-pytest-xdist has quite a large dep tree to unfold. Consider not using it just yet, as its usage in python-rpmautospec/-core should be optional.

Comment 2 Miro Hrončok 2024-08-20 09:54:47 UTC
FWIW pytest-xdist requires execnet which needs at least the optional_test_deps bcond disabled to build in EPEL 10, unless we want to include eventlet which is obsleted upstream.

Comment 3 Carl George 🤠 2024-08-22 05:15:09 UTC
With the merge of https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/python-rpmautospec/pull-request/7, the python-pytest-xdist buildrequirement no longer applies for EPEL 10. I imagine this package will still be generally useful in EPEL 10 for other packages, but the pressure is off to get it in for python-rpmautospec.

Miro, does that mean this package has been added to RHEL proper?

The package was built for EPEL10 in https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-EPEL-2024-5fe63b558c.

When I built python-execnet I went ahead and built this one, as it was finally unblocked. Since the branch was already there and there were no changes needed, I assumed it's OK.

Yep totally makes sense. I was more surprised when I didn't see a build on the homepage of src.fp.o, but there must just be some lag there.
