I believe this will be fixed in the final mpmath (python3-mpmath package) 1.4.0 release. Currently there seems to be a beta release 1.4.0b3. Reference: https://github.com/mpmath/mpmath/issues/1033
octave-symbolic builds fine now in rawhide with mpmath 1.4.1. I guess we need mpmath to get updated in F44 for it to get fixed there.
Yes I've pinged @zbyszek and asked for [either commit access or a backport to F44](https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/python-mpmath/pull-request/8#comment-325770). Then I'll do the build using my new-found knowledge of build-root-overrides (thanks again for that) and get an update submitted.
mpmath has been updated in f44 now too.
The build for f44 failed because it still got the old python3-mpmath. I started a new build now.
