Comment 3 Tom.Rix 2026-06-28 13:33:13 UTC
Can you explain this ?
bazelisk.spec:34: E: buildarch-instead-of-exclusivearch-tag x86_64 aarch64

# 2026/06/26 21:18:25 unsupported machine architecture "ppc64le", must be arm64 or x86_64
BuildArch: x86_64 aarch64
ExclusiveArch: x86_64 aarch64

I expected ExclusiveArch, but not the BuildArch. Why do you need the BuildArch ?
It would be ok to say upstream only has x86_64 and aarch64
https://github.com/bazelbuild/bazel/releases/tag/9.1.1

license review part of the fedorareview does not provide useful output, %check has a license check section and this agrees with my use of go2rpm and second look with some local ai.

Non blocking issues
Make sure of your specfile in the srpm. The Spec URL: bazelisk.spec what I reviewed, it is fine.

Some nice to haves.

Please add comment something like
go2rpm -p vendor -v 1.29.0 --name bazelisk github.com/bazelbuild/bazelisk

I was expecting /usr/bin/bazel when I was trying out the package, maybe add a symlink to /usr/bin/bazelisk

 1. go-version uses MPL-2.0 — This is a weak-copyleft license, not strictly permissive like MIT/Apache. Modifications to the
MPL-covered files themselves must remain under MPL-2.0 and be source-available. Files that merely link to it are not
    affected.
 2. Contributor license agreement (CLA) is required for contributions (Google's standard CLA), but this only applies to
    contributors, not to downstream users.

Maybe I misunderstood those directives but the compilation fails on anything that is not x86 or aarch64. Maybe it just needs BuildArch then.

> Make sure of your specfile in the srpm. The Spec URL: bazelisk.spec what I reviewed, it is fine.

The diff just shows rpmautospec changes which are done when building the src.rpm with "fedpkd srpm". False alarm I would say.

> I was expecting /usr/bin/bazel when I was trying out the package, maybe add a symlink to /usr/bin/bazelisk

I was unsure if it should be bazelisk or bazel because if in the future someone packages bazel then it would conflict with this package. For this reason, I would like to keep it as bazelisk and people can just use an alias if they want it as bazel

I have removed the ExclusiveArch since that is not needed.

The Pagure repository was created at https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/bazelisk
Monitoring:

 you can modify it manually.
Package wasn't created in Anitya, reason: `Bad Request, some necessary arguments were not provided.`.
