Description Jerry Vonau 2007-11-09 23:41:01 UTC
Description of problem:
When booting the rescue iso as rescue or install, the kernel boots, loader runs,
(install- pass though the screens), stage2 is mounted, anaconda is called then
the install or rescue exits. Gathered from watching tty3.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
11.3.0.50-2.i386

How reproducible:
Try booting on a AMD K-6 cpu system.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.download and burn f8 rescue iso
2.boot the iso
3.

Actual results:
install or rescue exits after anaconda is called

Expected results:
runs install or rescue

Additional info:
AMD K-6 cpu,(tried 350 to 550) 128 to 384megs ram.
intel cel 400 with 128megs ram boots and loads fine in text or rescue mode using
same ram, cdrom drive, and cdrom from above.

If anaconda won't run on a i586 as shipped, the release notes should be revised
to reflect that fact. Then why bother compiling the install kernel as 586
compatible.
