From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.10) Gecko/20071213 Fedora/2.0.0.10-3.fc8 Firefox/2.0.0.10 Description of problem: When I try to send e-mail evolution just sits there -- dialog box comes up but no progress is made until it times out. I'm using the same configuration for the server (SMTP) that worked with Fedora Core 6. In /var/log/messages I see: Dec 18 21:12:43 localhost gnome-keyring-daemon[2364]: Credentials byte was not nul with repeats as often as I try sending e-mail. Receiving e-mail works fine. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): evolution-2.12.2-2.fc8 How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.start evolution 2.create e-mail message 3.click send/receive Actual Results: dialog box comes up; any e-mail on the pop server is downloaded; nothing happens with sending -- no progress bar motion -- until it times out Expected Results: messages should have been sent Additional info: as noted above, it would seem this is a problem with gnome-keyring and its interaction with evolution. Apparently authentication is not happening.
I was having a similar problem; the fix in Bug 376691 resolved it.
This has turned out to be a problem only for re-directed e-mail (i.e. mail sent via Message -> Forward As... -> Redirect. I can send other mail just fine.
Sending redirected mail works fine for me with Evolution 2.22.0.
