Was there any response from upstream regarding exactly which of the three ZPL versions they're using?
I've heard that the final verdict was that ZPL 2.1 is in use; could you update the package? Keep in mind that if upstream didn't update the tarball to include the conclusive licensing information then it's sufficient to include your correspondence with them in the package.
